  1. Note 1 : No response from the Government. However, it seems that the government has accepted one of our suggestions. In this letter we recommended a simultaneous demonetization and remonetization to curb the black money. It seems that the government has pickedĀ  it up, refined it and used it in 2019.
  2. Note 2 : No response from the Government.
  3. Note 3 : We received a reply from the RBI, after a little nudge from the Ministry of Finance. The reply said

“.. .. we thank you for your interest in currency related matters. Further, it isinformed that matters related to issuance of currency are governed by the provisions of various sections of Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934.”
We are amused, honestly . The RBI, instead of examining the usefulness of the suggestion, simply junked it because some 100 years old British era Act has no provision for such a currency. Hilarious!

  1. Note 4 : No response from the Government.
  2. Note 5 : No response from the Government. But the government went ahead and announced/issued two more tranches/series of Sovereign Gold Bonds for the year 2023-24 subsequent to our letter. Either we are wrong in our conclusion or our letter didn’t receive the attention it deserves. Time will tell.
  3. Note 6 : No response from the Government.
